We are building a private internal web platform that supports operational workflows, data processing, and system integrations for a structured organization.

The Backend Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing core backend services, data models, and APIs that power the internal dashboard. The role focuses on reliability, correctness, security, and scalability, within a permissioned and hierarchical system.

This is an internal platform, not a public-facing product.

• Design and implement backend services and APIs

• Define and maintain relational data models

• Implement internal calculations and workflow logic

• Build and maintain API and webhook-based integrations

• Enforce authentication, authorization, and access control at the backend level

• Ensure data integrity, auditability, and consistency

• Support separation of environments (dev / staging / production)

• Collaborate with frontend and DevOps roles through clear interfaces

• Strong backend development experience (Node.js or equivalent)

• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and relational schema design

• Experience designing REST APIs

• Familiarity with webhook-driven architectures

• Understanding of secure system design and RBAC

• Comfortable with Git-based workflows

• Methodical and detail-oriented

• Comfortable working within defined specifications and hierarchy

• Prefers configurable systems over hardcoded logic

• Communicates decisions and trade-offs clearly

• Respects internal-only systems and confidentiality

• Project-based or 6-month engagement
